Yemen

Whose giant hand scooped /
gently sloping terraces /
in fertile mountain? //

Ynys Llanddwyn, (Wales), United Kingdom*

Over the bleak and /
gray-washed world, sparkling sentry /
cries to all, “Have hope!” //

Wikipedia.Ironically, this is the perfect time to write about Ynys Llanddwyn because “The name Llanddwyn means "The church of St. Dwynwen". Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, making her the Welsh equivalent of St. Valentine. Her Saint's day is January 25 and is often celebrated by the Welsh with cards and flowers”. Ruins of her church still exist.
